Inclusion & Gender Equity
At Quadball Canada, inclusivity is not an afterthought—it's fundamental to who we are and how we play. We believe quadball is a vehicle for community building, inclusivity, and leadership development.
Designed for Everyone
Our sport is explicitly designed to make space for trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming athletes. Quadball is inherently accepting and does not require players to conform to the gender binary. This isn't just a policy—it's woven into the very fabric of our game.
The Gender Maximum Rule
Quadball is a gender-integrated, full-contact sport. During standard play, there are six players on the field, with a maximum of three players of any one gender. This rule ensures that our sport remains truly inclusive and that players of all genders have meaningful opportunities to participate and compete.
Players self-identify their gender for gameplay purposes, and we trust and respect each individual's identity. This approach creates an environment where everyone can compete authentically as themselves.
Beyond the Field
Our commitment to inclusion extends beyond the playing field. Quadball Canada actively works to:
- Create safe and welcoming spaces for all athletes, regardless of gender identity, sexual orientation, race, ability, or background
- Provide leadership development opportunities that empower athletes from diverse communities
- Foster community building through our sport and organizational activities
- Advocate for gender equity and LGBTQ+ inclusion in sports
